Grits Souffle

1 1/2 cups grits
1 1/2 teaspoons salt
1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
5 eggs, beaten

Boil grits in 6 cups salted water. Stir in butter and cheese until cheese melts. Cook until lukewarm and add eggs. Pour into greased 2-quart baking dish, and bake at 350 degrees F for 45 minutes.
