Creamy Pineapple Cake

1 purchased angel food cake
1 (8 ounce) container whipped cream cheese
6 ounces pineapple preserves
1 (16 ounce) container extra creamy
    whipped topping
1 fresh pineapple, cored and sliced into rings

Slice angel food cake in half horizontally. Set top half of cake aside.

In a small bowl, mix cream cheese and preserves, adding more or less preserves to taste. Spread all of cream cheese mixture thickly on bottom half of angel food cake. Place top half of cake on top of cream cheese mixture, fitting both cake halves together. Frost entire cake with extra creamy whipped topping. Place pineapple rings in a pattern on top of and around sides of cake.
