Frosting Recipes



 

Caramel Icing

1 cup firmly packed light brown sugar
1 cup granulated sugar
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup milk
1 teaspoon vanilla extract

In a saucepan, combine all ingredients and boil about 5 to 10 minutes until mixture reaches soft-ball stage. Cool to room temperature and beat until icing reaches spreading consistency.

NOTE: To frost a two-layer cake, increase all ingredients by one-half.
