Creamy Vanilla Ice Cream

9 egg yolks
3 cups sugar
1 1/2 quarts homogenized milk
2 (13 ounce) cans evaporated milk
1 (1 ounce) bottle vanilla extract

Combine egg yolks, sugar and homogenized milk. Cook over medium heat, stirring until mixture coats a spoon. Chill for about 3 hours.

Add evaporated milk and vanilla extract, mixing well. Chill mixture several hours or overnight.

Freeze in a hand-cranked or electric ice cream freezer according to manufacturer's directions.
