Ice Cream Recipes D-J
Frozen Crunch Bars
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/4 cup butter or margarine (do not use
spread or tub products)
1/2 cup crunchy peanut butter
4 cups Cheerios cereal
1 quart favorite ice cream, sherbet or
frozen yogurt, slightly softened
Heat brown sugar and butter in 3-quart saucepan over medium heat, stirring
constantly, until thick and smooth. Stir in peanut butter. Stir in cereal.
Reduce heat to low; cook and stir 5 minutes longer. Remove from heat.
Spread mixture on wax paper or aluminum foil. Cool completely.
Spoon half of mixture in ungreased 13 x 9 x 2-inch pan. Spread evenly with ice
cream. Top with remaining cereal mixture; press down firmly. Place in freezer
about 1 hour or until frozen.
For bars, cut into 4 rows by 3 rows.
