Cracker-Fried Round Steak

1 1/2 pounds (1/2 inch thick) top round steak
1 egg, beaten
1 tablespoon milk
1 cup finely crushed soda crackers
1/4 cup vegetable oil

Pound steak to 1/4 inch thick, then cut into bite-size pieces.

Beat egg with milk. Drip steak into egg mixture, then coat with crumbs. Brown steak in hot oil over medium heat, turning once. Cover, and cook over medium-low heat for 45 to 60 minutes or until tender. Season with salt and pepper.
