Beef Recipes D-G
Hamburgers with Mushroom Gravy
Makes 6 servings.
1 (10 3/4 ounce) can beefy mushroom soup, divided
1 1/2 pounds ground chuck
1 large egg, beaten
1/2 cup fine, dry bread crumbs
1/4 cup finely chopped onion
1/4 cup water
In a large mixing bowl, combine 1/4 cup soup, all the ground chuck, egg, bread
crumbs and onions; mix well.
Divide meat mixture evenly into 6 portions. Shape each portion into a 1/2-inch
thick patty. Brown patties in a large nonstick skillet over medium heat, 3 to 4
minutes on each side, or until browned.
Combine remaining soup and water, stirring well. Pour over patties, cover,
reduce to low heat, and simmer gently for 20 minutes, or until done.
Serve immediately over mashed potatoes, rice or noodles.
