Pork Recipes M-R
Onion-Smothered Pork Chops
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
6 (1/2-inch) thick pork chops
1 onion, chopped
2 tablespoons butter
1 can cream of onion soup
In a skillet, brown pork chops in oil and simmer about 10 minutes.
In the same skillet, add butter and saute chopped onion. (Pan juices are brown
from pork chops so onions will be brown from juices already in the skillet.) Add
onion soup and 1/2 cup water. Stir well to create a pretty, light brown color.
Pour onion-soup mixture over pork chops. Cover and bake at 325 degrees F for 40
minutes. Serve with brown rice.
