South of the Border Hash Browns
1 (5 1/2 ounce) package hash brown
potatoes with onions
1 (4 ounce) can chopped green chiles, drained
1 cup shredded Monterey jack cheese
3 tablespoons margarine
Cover potatoes with boiling water. Let stand 5 minutes. Drain thoroughly. Layer
half each of the potatoes, chiles and cheese into ungreased 8-inch square baking
dish. Dot with half of the margarine. Repeat with remaining ingredients. Cover
and bake 20 minutes at 350 degrees F. Uncover and bake until golden brown.
Makes 4 servings.
