Instructions
Preparation Steps
In a large mixing bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast; let sit for 5 minutes until foamy.
Add melted butter and 2 cups of flour; mix until smooth. Gradually add the remaining flour to form a soft dough.
Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for 5-7 minutes until elastic. Place in a greased bowl, cover, and let rise until doubled, about 1 hour.
Roll dough into a 15x9 inch rectangle. Spread melted butter over dough, sprinkle with cinnamon and brown sugar evenly.
Roll up the dough tightly and cut into 8 equal pieces. Place rolls in a greased baking pan and let rise for 30 minutes.
Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Bake rolls for 25 minutes or until golden brown.
While baking, beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth to make the icing.
Spread icing over warm rolls before serving.
Notes
For a richer flavor, use half-and-half instead of milk and add chopped pecans inside the rolls before baking.
