Instructions
Preparation Steps
Set Instant Pot to saute mode and melt 1 tablespoon butter. Add minced garlic and grated ginger; cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.
Add chicken thighs to the pot and brown on both sides for 3-4 minutes each.
Stir in tomato sauce, heavy cream, garam masala, turmeric, paprika, cayenne pepper, and remaining butter. Mix well to combine.
Close the lid and set the Instant Pot to manual high pressure for 10 minutes.
After cooking, allow natural pressure release for 10 minutes, then release any remaining pressure manually.
Open lid and stir the butter chicken. Garnish with chopped cilantro before serving.
Notes
For extra richness, serve with basmati rice or naan bread. Leftovers refrigerate well for up to 3 days.
