Instructions
Preparation Steps
Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
Brush the grill grates with olive oil to prevent sticking.
Roll out the pizza dough on a floured surface to a 12-inch circle.
Place the dough directly onto the grill. Cook for 2-3 minutes until grill marks appear and the bottom is crisp.
Flip the dough and quickly spread tomato sauce over the grilled side.
Sprinkle shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce.
Close the grill lid and cook for another 5-7 minutes until the cheese melts and crust is cooked through.
Remove pizza from the grill, garnish with fresh basil leaves and crushed red pepper flakes if desired.
Slice and serve hot.
Notes
For best results, use fresh dough and serve immediately. Leftovers can be reheated in the oven for a crispy crust.
