Instructions
Preparation Steps
In a bowl, combine flour and sugar. Cut in cold butter until mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
Slowly add ice water until dough just comes together. Shape into a disc, wrap, and chill for at least 30 minutes.
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Roll out dough on a floured surface into a 12-inch circle.
In a bowl, toss strawberries with sugar, cornstarch, and lemon juice.
Place strawberry mixture in the center of dough, leaving a 2-inch border. Fold edges over filling, pleating as needed.
Brush crust with egg wash and sprinkle with turbinado sugar.
Bake for 35 minutes or until crust is golden and filling is bubbly. Cool before serving.
Notes
Serve warm or at room temperature with a scoop of vanilla ice cream for extra indulgence.
