Preparation Steps
Boil a pot of salted water and cook the bow tie pasta until al dente. Drain and set aside.
In a large saucepan, melt 2 tablespoons of butter over medium heat.
Stir in the flour and cook for 2 minutes to form a roux.
Gradually add milk, whisking continuously until the mixture thickens.
Mix in the garlic powder, salt, and pepper, then add the cheese until melted.
Fold in the cooked bow tie pasta and remaining butter until well combined.
Serve warm, garnished with additional cheese if desired.
Notes
For extra flavor, add cooked bacon or breadcrumbs on top.
