Instructions
Preparation Steps
Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil and cook the orecchiette pasta according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add the Italian sausage and cook until browned and cooked through, breaking it up with a spoon.
Add minced garlic and red pepper flakes to the skillet, cooking for 1-2 minutes until fragrant.
Stir in cherry tomatoes and cook for 5 minutes until they soften.
Add the cooked pasta to the skillet, tossing with sausage mixture. Season with salt and black pepper.
Remove from heat and stir in fresh basil and grated Parmesan cheese before serving.
Notes
For a creamier texture, add a splash of heavy cream before stirring in the Parmesan cheese.
